Breaking a substitute doesn't negate HyperBeam, SelfDestruct/Explosion effects. Defeating a Pokémon does not negate the need for HyperBeam to recharge. Player turns to face an enemy trainer, like in every game except Red and FireRed. Changed Struggle to be ?-Type so nothing can be immune to it. Fixed the bug where Item Evolutions can happen accidentally by level-up. No NPCs making impossible claims about Pokémon evolving. Not necessarily a bug, but Old Rod can catch more than just Magikarp. Pokémon can be assigned to learn more than one move per level. Pokémon do not skip learning a move if they gain enough EXP to skip over that level. No more "Gen 1 Missing" (aka 100% Accuracy moves no longer accidentally have a 1/256 chance of missing). Swift can no longer hit during the "invulnerable" turn of an attack. Fixed-Damage moves no longer ignore type immunity. All attacks should have their Gen 6 typing and Base Power, almost all have Gen 6 effect. Counter can hit any Physical attack, not just any Normal or Fighting attack. Critical Hit and Focus Energy code ported from Pokémon Crystal. Waking up does not waste your entire turn. Frozen Pokémon can thaw naturally, or if they use a move that thaws the user as part of its effect. These are notable bugs from original Red that have been fixed Since new Pokémon have been added and internal ID numbers sorted differently from Gen 1, it is not yet known what this will do to connectivity with vanilla games. As of right now, whether or not the game will allow accurate trading between vanilla games is uncertain. However, trading and battling have not been removed. There have been a few changes along the way, and there will be a few additional areas both in the normal course of the game and the post-game, but thse won't get in the way of the original story.Īll Pokémon will be obtainable without the need to trade with other players.
At it's core, Red++ is still the original Gen 1 story.
